PSYCHO-HYGIENE

                                                                  Psycho-Hygiene!

A while ago I had a great chance to make one of the most memorable and beautiful trips to Bandipur. The stretch of road (Bangalore-Ooty Highway) is not only impeccable but also a visual treat. The drive was more than perfect with the flawless road, mesmerizing music, an endless span of sunflower fields proudly greeting us from either sides of the road, the silken breeze sweeping over my face only to heighten and amplify the glorious experience. I could almost imagine myself in a bucolic lane, caught in the wild side see-saw of the glorious sun and the mysterious fog, doused in the spirit of vigour and zest. Everything seemed straight out of a fanciful dream until rains started lashing across our windshield. What was a crystal clear view almost a moment ago now seemed hazy, what was right before my eyes now looked distant, what looked inviting so quickly seemed elusive! But this was only a transitory ambiguity, with just the push of a button, two tiny hand like structures called the wipers made some swift crisscross movements and all that was murky stood before me as clear as it was earlier! WOW! Just the push of one button?

It was then that an important realization struck me , this was probably a 'moment of truth'. Some ordinary events and happenings of life can all of a sudden bring before you certain priceless lessons for life.

Come to think of it and you will realize that our life is no different from a journey. A road trip to an unknown/known destination. Like it or not, we are all on the drivers seat holding the steering! May be all of us have tuned our reflexes to the art of using accelerator, clutch and break but what we have forgotten is the existence of a magical wand called the Wiper!

A flawless road or a bumpy ride, we are so preoccupied with ourselves and our thoughts that we often forget that the fuzzy view from the windshield of our journey can be cleansed with just the push of a button. Selfishness, bias, egotism, hypocrisy, jealousy are lashing across the windshield of our mind like rain and slush, only to make the otherwise simple and beautiful journey troublesome and laborious. Can we wipe them off by a simple wiper mechanism called- Forgive, forget and Let go!

Can we put this simple wiper mechanism to use to make our journey more beautiful? "Psycho hygiene" if I may call so....! I am still learning to use this magical button... But yes I have at least realized the presence of this little friend! And my journey is getting better and more beautiful :)
